Warning: If you love your ego, I suggest you find something else to read - because your ego will find what's below entirely revolting. Those who look to their ego for guidance, stop reading.
If you’re on the path to inner peace, you’ve likely found yourself distracted a little here and there along the way. Some seem aware of the distractions and see right past them, others step right into the distraction and can’t see it for what it is. It is for this latter group that I’ve written this message. First, let's look at the seeming mechanics of just how you seemingly got distracted. All you did was follow the Law of Distraction - in most cases, unconsciously.
The Law of Distraction is as follows:
Religiously and ritualistically adhering to the steps above will produce seemingly phantasmal Earthly and otherworldly hallucinatory experiences that, of course, you’ll believe are entirely real. And, while they seem real enough to you because your mind is quite powerful, they may not be reality for everyone else. These perceived experiences are popularly called “woo woo.”
The thing about “woo woo” is that, while it may be terribly captivating and contagious, it might also be distracting you from your goal of personal growth and peace – possibly even inducing a lemming-like comatose state about which you are completely unaware. Here is how that might work:
You tell one person about your personal phantasmal experiences, they positively respond, “woo woo.” You then look around for more people, hoping to get more validation, and you quickly discover flocks of other believers just like you. “Woo woo,” you proudly announce, "look over there, those folks are just like me – they too have had that really cool experience.” And, somehow, this sort of experiential feedback (which you bring yourself through your own power) convinces you that you’re onto something – something neat and yes, something universally real. But is it? Might it rather be proof of just how powerful your mind is? Might it, therefore, NOT be proof that what you think is real is REALITY?
Hint: Don't allow what I just said to frighten you, the real you is entirely invulnerable. This dialog is about exposing the fake you, the delusional notions that have, through your personal belief endorsement, blocked you from knowing the peaceful, joyful, innocent you - and seeing that same peace, joy, and innocence in your world.
Q: So, what is “woo woo?” A: “Woo woo” is the belief in the past, the future, 2012, reincarnation, spirits, ghosts, guides, witches, warlocks, gods, goddesses, channeling, mediums, angels, devils, energy, reiki, crystals, stones, colors, chakras, meridians, grids, energy vortices, full moons, half moons, harvest moons, solar eclipses, and a million other things. It is also the belief that spiritual awareness is both organized and hierarchical, well within your controlling grasp. Finally, you feel vigilant that your understanding of these seeming features, as they’ve been defined for you, is entirely necessary for your personal growth towards inner peace.
Note: There is NOTHING wrong with the “woo woo” chosen path to self-awareness. The value of any path that suggests that there is more to life and identity than what you view in the mirror is self-evident. Be true to yourself, remembering nobody has a monopoly on the truth, including me.
Q: Wow, thanks for the "note," but that pretty much sums me up, am I wrong for believing in all that? A: No. You are not wrong. Let's leave evaluative ideas like right, wrong, good, and bad alone for now - because that's how the ego figures out the world. Let's rather consider the purpose of any thought you hold as real to you. You can do that by asking yourself these questions regarding any "woo woo" topic I've listed or others: Is believing in this or that liberating or constricting my relationship with myself and others? Do I feel peaceful all the time, more loving to everyone and everything, and do I see innocence everywhere I look?
Hint1: What you believe becomes true for you experientially. That does not, however, validate that your experiences are either universal or reality. Yes, I have repeated this point because understanding it is absolutely critical for your escape from "woo woo."
Hint2: That upon which you add your belief takes your power. "Woo woo" ideas are choices (perceptions), not facts (reality). It is therefore possible to dramatically weaken, dis-empower, and block yourself by believing that your choices are facts.
Hint3: Love or true essence requires no symbols nor your devotion nor your understanding nor your contribution to it for its reality. It just is.
